The Centre MK

The amount of stress caused Christmas shopping, especially with a 4 and a 2 year old is pretty high… let alone when we are in the middle of a pandemic! We always go to The Centre in Milton Keynes to browse gifts — and visit the Disney and Lego shops to find things to ask Santa for. Fortunately, their mini Christmas Wonderland is fantastic! It really does make the experience SO much nicer! Even when our two year old daughter wants to practise her forward rolls down the aisles!

We popped down today after school. Chloe desperately needed some new clothes, so a quick visit to Primark (which wasn’t too busy!) and a LONG browse around the Disney shop, we then went to see the lights.

The Santa’s Grotto is in Middleton Hall (next to John Lewis). I personally thought that they were amazing this year. Both the kids were wide mouthed when walking around them. Although the grotto is completely booked up now, there is still the small Christmas market, the helter skelter, the carousel and the mini train. All the experiences are £2 each, except the grotto at £13.99 for children and £4.99 for adults. The kids decided that they wanted to do the train, which is literally a quick lap around the lights. They loved it though! This year’s theme is Peter Rabbit, which was extremely exciting too!

Again, definitely ideal for a Christmassy trip out, especially if you want to combine it with some Christmas shopping. There are markers to show a one way system around the centre, hand sanitiser stations throughout and each shop states it’s maximum capacity, with markers outside so you can safely queue. We arrived at around 3.15 on a Thursday and it was very quiet! A successful evening all round!
